I'm the developer of WikiGateway and the current host of this development space.

Technical agenda

I'd like to decouple a wiki's frontend from it's content. Then, users will be able to use whatever frontend they want with their favorite wiki communities, instead of being stuck to whatever wiki that community uses.

See WikiWindow for my plans. I built WikiGateway partially because I was interested in making a WikiWindow later, although WikiGateway is a separate tool that has many other uses. WikiGateway also directly advances the above goal by making it easier for a wiki website to transfer its content from one MeatBall:WikiEngine? to another.

I am implementing all of this for UseMod first, because my favorite wiki is MeatballWiki and so personally I would like to interact with MeatballWiki as I use new wiki software and features. One new MeatBall:WikiEngine? that I would like to use to interact with MeatballWiki is CommunityProgrammedWiki. Eventually I would like to setup a WikiWindow running CommunityProgrammedWiki as a frontend to interact with MeatballWiki.

How much time I (don't) have to initiate lots more projects along these lines besides what is here

I don't have much time in general. I'm trying to cut back on the time i spend on wiki projects, and spend more time on what i'm supposed to be doing (i.e. doing research for a neuroscience lab). I'm still going to be working on wiki software, because it's just too cool for me to resist (and, it takes such a small amount of coding time to get results), but I'm not going to start or join a ton of other projects in order to galvanize the community into beginning the age of InterWiki?, because my other responsibilities won't permit it.

Or, rather, I am planning to get around to a lot of this stuff eventually, but I'm going to go at a snail's pace to keep the hrs/week spent down to a small number.
